UZBEK COTTON

UZBEK COTTON

Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has become one of the leading players in the global cotton market, ranking sixth in the production of raw cotton and the fifth largest export of cotton fiber. This was facilitated by effective measures taken by the leadership of the republic to reform the cotton industry, create new varieties of cotton and attract advanced technologies, machinery and equipment for growing and processing the crop.
For example, in the country there are good conditions for carrying out scientific research work on cotton breeding, thanks to which over 110 new varieties have been bred, more than 30 of which have been entered in the State Register. It should be noted that they are distinguished by high yield, early maturity, color, strength, micronaire of fiber, and also by the superiority of other technical indicators. Along with this, emphasis is placed on improving the quality of cotton fiber by further improving the sowing system of selected varieties of technical culture.
The director of the international news agency Cotton Outlook, R. Butler, gave a high assessment of the work carried out in Uzbekistan to develop the cotton complex and improve the quality of its products, introducing the current trends and prospects for the development of the global cotton fiber market, at which the formed stocks of fiber keep prices down. And in the speech of the managing director of the International Advisory Committee on cotton A. Gitschuns, devoted to the world demand for cotton and synthetic fibers, a detailed analysis of the situation was carried out, when, due to lower prices for polyester and other synthetic fibers, its consumption grows in comparison with cotton fiber .
However, despite the peculiar competition of cotton fiber with synthetic fibers, themajority of consumers around the world prefer products from natural cotton. Therefore, Uzbekistan has a huge export potential in the textile industry.
50 countries, including the CIS, the countries of Europe, China, USA, Canada, the United Arab Emirates. And the geography of exports is constantly expanding, last year, new markets were developed - Liechtenstein, Mauritania, Pakistan, Georgia, Croatia, Nigeria and a number of other countries. And for sure many participants of the fair were impressed by the fact that if in the 90s of the last century the total volume of exports of textile and clothing and knitwear from Uzbekistan amounted to 7 million US dollars, today, due to ongoing sectoral reforms and the development of new markets, this the figure exceeded one billion dollars.

Uzbekistan's own natural resources that provide environmentally friendly and 100% natural raw materials, as well as huge production created by all world standards, make Uzbek textile a strategic resource capable of influencing world markets.
We take the basis of our products from nature itself - the cleanest eco-raw materials. In the process of production, we try to keep as much naturalness as possible in our products. And we succeed. And we will do our best to continue in the same spirit for many long and long years.
At the same time, we understand that even though the natural product in the world is becoming more expensive, we, on our part, are making efforts to ensure that our eco-product is accessible to the widest layers of the population. Nature was created for all of us.

Cotton or, as proudly nicknamed it among the people, "white gold" is one of the main national treasures of Uzbekistan. Thanks to the diligence of our people, as well as the application of the latest agrotechnical equipment, Uzbekistan has entered the forefront in the cultivation of cotton and the production of high-quality yarns of natural origin.
